SOS #25 and more

9407bOkay, so I didn't make Monkey socks. I thought I would try out one of the charts that I made in this post. This was made with the chart that is 16 stitches across. There is an error in the chart. Ack! There should be another row that's all knitted after the last row in the chart. This pattern was very easy to memorize and it looks good knitted too. These socks haven't been blocked yet, but really need it. The stitch pattern makes a very bumpy fabric. Most of it goes away when you put on the socks.

This is my first time using Koigu and I love it. It is as nice as I've read. It's very soft and squishy. I bought this while on vacation this summer. This would be a yarn that I would want to buy in person and not online. There were so many colors at the store, but this one just jumped out at me. After this pair, I think it's time to knit for others again. That means more toned down colors and more stockinette (ack!) socks.

9407fAnd then there was another pair of socks that was started over the long weekend. This one is for my Mom. This was made out of one of the older yarns in my stash. It's Cherry Tree Hill's Super Glitz. It has a thread of sparkly stuff in it that really shines when you're wearing these socks. That thread is also a bit scratchy when you're knitting. Thankfully, you can't really feel it when you're wearing the finished socks. But when you're knitting, sometimes there will be a kink or twist in that strand that bumps along your finger.

As usual, they look great! I'm keen to try Koigu at some point. You only hear good things.
